Picture the Retro Game Room You Wanted Growing Up. One Winner Chooses the Gear.

The giveaway photos stage the prize like a game room. The prize itself is the PC, monitor, joystick, keyboard, mouse and a console and games bundle, or a cash alternative.

The photos for LvlUp's Retro giveaway look like a game room: a wooden desk, a glowing tower, a neon poster on the wall. That room is staging. The furniture, shelves, posters and lighting are not part of the prize.

What is up for grabs is the gear: a custom gaming PC, a gaming monitor, a retro joystick and keyboard, a PRIMEPLUS retro wireless gaming mouse and a retro console and games bundle. If you have ever sketched the game room you wanted as a kid, here are six ideas for building one around that gear.

Idea 1Make the tower the centerpiece

The PC's retro-style tower has a glass side, and there is a lot to look at through it: purple-lit fans, glowing memory and a liquid cooler whose pump head is shaped like a tiny monitor. That is a case for putting it on the desk at eye level, not under it.

Idea 2Give the inputs their own space

The joystick deserves a spot where your hand can find it. Set the keyboard in the middle, the joystick off to one side and the PRIMEPLUS mouse on the other. All three share the same off-white, grey and red look, so they read as one set on a bare desktop.

Idea 3One shelf per console family

The console bundle mixes Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox hardware from several generations. Sorting it by maker, one shelf each, keeps things tidy. The shelves would be your own; the hardware is what the prize supplies.

Idea 4A drawer for the handhelds

The bundle includes three portable systems: the Nintendo DS Lite, the PSP and a Game Boy Advance SP. They do not need a TV or a shelf. A drawer or basket near the couch is enough.

Idea 5Let the PC handle some of the light

The giveaway photos lean on purple, red, blue and green neon. Some of that glow comes from the PC itself: the RGB memory and fans light up inside the case, as the close-up below shows. Any room lighting beyond that is up to you.

Idea 6Keep the cash option in mind

Maybe the room you picture looks nothing like this. The Official Rules give the winner a choice: the gear, or a $10,000 cash award instead.

The gear in briefWhat the PC is built from

The tower holds a GeForce RTX 5090 with 32GB of memory and a Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor from AMD. Memory is 64GB of RGB-lit DDR5, and storage is a 4TB Gen5 SSD. Behind those sit an X870-series motherboard, RGB fans, 1200W of power and a 6-inch LCD screen panel kit.

The bundle in briefShelves worth of hardware

For Idea 3, here is what you would be sorting. Nintendo: the NES, Nintendo 64, Wii and Nintendo Switch 2, plus the two handhelds. PlayStation: every home console from the first through the PlayStation 5, plus the PSP. Xbox: four consoles, from the original through the Xbox Series S. Games for the older systems are part of the bundle.

Common questions

Is the room in the photos part of the prize?

No. The desk, shelves, posters, lighting and other decor in the photos are staging. The prize is the gear named in the Official Rules: the PC, monitor, joystick and keyboard, PRIMEPLUS mouse, and console and games bundle.

Will the prize arrive set up?

The rules don't promise any setup or installation. After the prize is awarded, the winner is solely responsible for all matters relating to it.

Can I choose cash instead of the gear?

If you win, yes. The rules let the winner take a $10,000 cash award rather than the prize.

Do I have to buy something to enter?

No. The free mail-in route is worth 10 entries per card, and purchases never change your chances.

How is the winner chosen?

At random, in a drawing on or about November 24, 2026. The Administrator, American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co., Inc., runs it.

Who can take part?

You must legally reside in the US or Canada and be at least 18 years old or of the age of majority where you live. The giveaway is void where prohibited, and a Canadian winner faces a skill-testing question.
